ESPRIT saves time and money at Burgess Specialty Fabricating (1-Jul-2005)

“ESPRIT was more versatile than the rest. Both the lathe and mill package out-performed the [competitors] with the ease, accuracy, and programming time.”

--- Jonathan Fowler, programmer at Burgess Specialty Fabricating

Burgess Specialty Fabricating has few limitations when it comes to machining parts. Considering themselves a “true job shop,” Burgess machines parts for any industry, from oilfield to medical, and much more.

Using a variety of Haas machines, including a VF-4SS and TM-1, Programmer Jonathan Fowler said they are able to package the machines nicely with their CAM software, ESPRIT 2005, by DP Technology. The result is an ideal machining process.

“We are using the ESPRIT SolidTurn and SolidMill packages and are milling right off of the customer supplied Parasolid® file—this is saving us a lot of time," Fowler said. "The customer sends us a Parasolid file and instead of having to draw the geometry, we can machine it directly from the file.”

This story appeared in the July 2005 issue of Machining.
